UTPC, Tanzania Editors Forum strive to work together more closely

As a gesture of good will, UTPC Executive Director, Mr Abubakar Karsan assured Tanzania Editors Forum Board that his media organization, in its capacity as an umbrella body for all 23 Press Clubs, is committed to working with them more closely this time around.

Summarizing the most important points that had transpired  during a two-day workshop held at Mwanza’s La-kairo hotel earlier on, Mr Karsan said UTPC, indeed, strives to help the Tanzania Editors Forum establish its own  international reputation, just as those of Australia and Britain have done lately.

Mr Karsan, accompanied by UTPC President, Mr Kenneth Simbaya, made the remarks at a lake-shore Tilapia hotel, to where all the visiting Tanzania Editors Forum Board members were taken to dinner.

He dropped a hint that an around -table meeting is likely to be convened shortly in either Dodoma or Morogoro, between UTPC the Forum and the Police Force, aimed at restoring friendlier and more conducive working relations amongst them to its past glory.

While Mr Theophil Makunga, Ms Emily Gabriel and two UTPC Board members namely Mr. Christopher Nyenyembe and Ms Jane Mihanji were in attendance at Lakairo hotel workshop, two others including Mr. Abslolom Kibanda and Mr Neville Meena were absent.

After lengthy and fascinating discussions that had ensued later on, the Forum’s Board members visited a centrally-located Information and Resource Centre, along Kenyatta Road before proceeding to UTPC premises, at Isamilo area, where they got a full briefing all about them.
