Regional Stakeholders Workshops

UTPC has been supporting press clubs financially and technically, so that they can conduct regional stakeholders workshops in an effective manner.

These workshops are an ideal platform whereby media stakeholders and journalists, meet and discuss their relationship, cooperation and challenges.

Since 2011 a total number 46 regional stakeholders workshops have been conducted and produced tangible results. Some of the general results are:-

-          Stakeholders use press club’s services such as arbitration, provision of various information, and media invitation procedures.

-          More stakeholders from state and non state actors, visit press clubs’ offices for consultations.

Some of the Stakeholder workshops’ impacts on the community are that they have strengthened relationship between Press Clubs/journalists and government, which is one of UTPC’s strategic partners. Shinyanga Press Club-organized stakeholders workshop held in Kahama in 2012 is a case in point because it was officiated at by former Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr Ezekiel Maige thus bringing respect and honour to the Club.

Equally, such gatherings had resulted in the stakeholders donating handsomely to support activities of Press Club;  Media Club of Manyara (MAMEC) and Rukwa Press Clubs being one of the beneficiaries, having raised 18.0m/= and 1.0m/= respectively.
